Verdant story: from the first nursery to an integrated plantation and wood model

Verdant has been built step by step since 2013, with a focus on owned Paulownia plantations, modern field infrastructure, and finished products with added value.

Verdant timeline 2013-2026

Company evolution, year by year

The timeline below highlights our major milestones: nursery development, plantation expansion, infrastructure investments and finished Paulownia wood product validation.

2013

Verdant foundation and first nursery

We started operations with the first Paulownia nursery and 1,500 saplings, building the technical base for long-term growth.

2014

Early operational expansion

Nursery capacity increased to 3,500 saplings and the first 700 trees were planted on 0.75 hectares.

2015

First major land development

We leased 16 hectares in Dâmbovița and planted 12,800 saplings, moving from pilot execution to a commercial setup.

2016

Regional scale-up

Leased land grew to 64 hectares, a new nursery was launched at 20,000 saplings/year, and 12 hectares were planted.

2017

International branch and mechanization

We opened our Zug, Switzerland branch (ecoTrees AG), expanded machinery and irrigation systems, and improved operational capacity.

2018

Agronomic consolidation

Another 10 hectares were planted while we continued eco-fertilization and maintenance activities for controlled tree elongation.

2019

60 hectares milestone

We reached 60 planted hectares in the core project and supported around 20 additional hectares in partner plantations.

2020-2022

Technical modernization and geographic expansion

We modernized irrigation infrastructure, expanded plantations in Ialomița and Constanța, and strengthened operational resilience.

2023-2024

Industrial validation for Paulownia wood

We tested wood technical properties and delivered pilot batches for panels, campers, skis and paddle-boat components.

2025

Pilot industrialization and energy efficiency

We advanced pilot product lines, added photovoltaic systems with storage, installed weather stations and monitoring infrastructure.

2026

Next growth stage

We expanded by another 15 hectares with modern irrigation and solar systems while accelerating finished Paulownia wood products.
